Niyama Meditative Vinyasa Flow

Our signature class created by our Founder, Nicole Zornitzer. This class is a kaleidoscope of meaningful expression through movement of the body; relying on the core values presented in Pantanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Dynamic music is used to spark the soul-body connection. Attention is brought to the release of stagnant prana (energy), while simultaneously honoring the culmination of life’s journey. The soul is where we find ourselves, the practice is our compass to arrive.

Niyama Power Vinyasa Flow (HEATED)

Similar to our signature Meditative Vinyasa Flow Class with the addition earth element FIRE which is added to ignite the body’s internal heat.  Power sequencing and challenging asanas are offered to inspire you to release toxins from the physical, emotional and spiritual body.

Niyama Yoga Nidra

The traditional practice of guided meditation inspired by Swami Satyananda Saraswati which is derived from the tantras.  This is a powerful technique in which you learn to relax consciously.  Yoga Nidra is yogic “sleep”

Niyama Power Shred Vinyasa

Similar to our signature Meditative Vinyasa Flow Class with the addition earth element FIRE which is added to ignite the body’s internal heat by using light weights to create sculpted muscles and leaner body.  Power sequencing and challenging asanas are offered to inspire you to release toxins from the physical, emotional and spiritual body.

Spirited by our instructors each week this class is fun, relaxed and encourages you to start your weekend off right!

Hatha to Yin Fusion

Hatha yoga focuses on balancing the body and incorporates yoga asanas (poses) and
breathing techniques that are taught at a slower pace. Often, a pose is held static for
a bit longer than a typical Vinyasa class. This class is then fused with our Traditional Yin as taught by Bernie Clark and Paul Grilley. Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga incorporating principles of traditional
Chinese medicine, with the traditional asanas (postures) that are held for longer
periods of time than other styles of yoga. This class is the perfect fusion of action and relaxation.

Niyama Traditional Yin

The traditional practice of yin as taught by Bernie Clark and Paul Grilley.  Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with the traditional asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than other styles of yoga.  All Niyama Yin instructors have Advanced Education in Yin Yoga and have been trained under the guidance of Nicole Zornitzer and Peter Palladino; who trained under Bernie Clark and Paul Grilley.

Niyama Restorative Yin

The intention of this style of yin is to slow down and open the body through passive stretching.  Fully supporting your body, with minimal movement, supported by props for ultimate pleasure, comfort and alignment.  Often taught with a guided meditation.

Niyama Raja Yin (HEATED)

With deeply spiritual and philosophical roots, this practice is a heated yin class that provides fiery and a challenging approach to all traditional yin postures.  This style of yin is intense, will provoke internal fire and encourage internal inquiry.

Niyama Wall Yin

Similar to the restorative style of yin with the introduction of the wall for support.  Use of the wall encourages deeper stretches with support.  This class allows one to release and truly let go while being “held” by the wall.

Niyama Yoga Ropes

The rope wall was developed by BKS Iyengar, who used it as a prop to support and intensify his asana practice.  The ropes work by using gravity as a natural form of resistance, allowing the body to open more than if in a traditional yoga class.  Rope poses are especially beneficial for spine health by using traction to relieve pressure from compressed vertebral discs.  

 

Niyama is one of the only shalas in the state of New Jersey providing this modality, using the most quality rope wall which was created by Alison West of Yoga Union NYC.

Niyama Therapeutic Vinyasa Flow

You will be guided by one of our top Yoga Therapists’ through a vinyasa style class influenced
traditional yoga therapy. Therapeutic Yoga focuses on asana, mindfulness and proper form and
function. This is perfect for those who are managing stress or past injury.


This practice will also introduce the 8 limbs of yoga and their meaning / value in an asana class.
This class is perfect for a new yoga practitioner or a seasoned one who is looking for more
meaning to their practice.

Open Level Vinyasa Flow

This class is perfect for new yogis or those who are looking to flow organically through a
vinyasa class. Attention is paid to form and function while also fusing motivational themes,
instruction and music.

Mandala Yoga

A practice which honors the creative energy in all its manifestations taught exclusively by our very own Danielle Martucci.  Integrating the spiral patterns that nature uses to shape and create the material and energetic worlds. Opening us up into deeper introspection as we move and expand around the mat. This practice leads us into places that our awareness would not have accessed by following a linear pattern. This methodology is highly influenced by the 4 elements: Air, Earth, Fire & Water.

Using repetition as a means to continuously visit the target areas of the body, creating familiarity and comfort while reinforcing different perspectives to attain our goals.

Niyama Barre Sculpt Fusion

A hybrid practice combining ballet inspired moves with elements of Pilates, Yoga and strength training. This low impact class focuses on high reps and small range movements for long lean muscles, joint stability and strength of mind, body and spirit. This program incorporates light weights, resistance straps and other props which encourage deeper targeting of muscles.

Niyama Mindful Barre Fusion

A practice that fuses together traditional barre methods founded in 1940 by Lotte Berk with the traditional yoga asana philosophy. This practice supports spinal function in form in a woman’s body, creating an impression of longer and leaner body lines. This practice also helps to off-set the natural occurrence of osteoporosis by 30% if done over the course of 6 months by strengthening the anatomical bone structure.

Niyama Powercore Yoga Fusion

Inspired by yoga and pilates movements. This class will strengthen the core with traditional pilates movements and follow with yoga asana to properly lengthen and stretch the target areas. This is recommended for all levels of yoga and pilates practitioners.

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training which includes short spurts of energy release. We use the concepts of Tabata Training in which high intensity movements are done for approximately 4 minutes followed with gentle yoga asana to help stretch and strengthen the body.

 

*Appropriate for intermediate to advanced levels

M.O.T.R

A pilates inspired program that uses the concepts of TRX Training and Resistance Training. Niyama Yoga & Wellness Studio is one of the only studios in the tri-state area to have an offer this unique style workout. This is done on a M.O.T.R. machine in the studio. This style workout improves core strength, upper & lower body strength, balance and agility and functional alignment.

Pre-Natal / Post-Natal Yoga

A class designed for expecting mothers to encourage healthy and beneficial movement for the duration of the pregnancy term. This class will cater to the ever-changing physical demands and emotional trials throughout all stages or pregnancy. A strong focus on spinal and hip health and mobility will allow expecting mothers to begin preparing for the grand finale of childbirth, while guided standing postures will challenge and strengthen each mother’s endurance for the marathon of childbirth. This call would similarly be suitable for newly postnatal mothers, with doctor approval, to begin returning to a yoga routine during recovery.
